I paid about 32.00 for this so can't be too mad about the quality. It's cheaply made, it's not a carpet but a soft fabric on cardboard and thin wood. There are several factory defects on the lines and stitching. There are some open clips on the yarn rods and the second layer has 3 open screws that look weird and stand out, but I don't see the cat getting hurt. The instructions for this were very simple. No additional tools are required. The stand is solid overall, but not for your cat to jump off or on. BUT the top rod and circle area move and rotate, the screw is no longer tightened. He is also very small. I have a very small 8.5 lb cat who is mostly fit. It's the same with part of the house, she's getting into shape. The color options are ok, but it was only 32.00. Also not sure why there is a horizontal bar at the bottom, it seems useless.
