I bought size L and I would say it fits like a 12. I am returning it because it is just like that was not a good fit for me. The waist was too high for my liking, but now it's also fashionable. I also felt it was a bit long dropping my waist down. I have a large waist compared to my hips and this suits me. I considered hemming it, but it has a slit in the back and hemming would have made it oddly short. Overall the quality was very good for the price. I liked the fact that it felt more like thicker denim than the lightweight, stretchy fabric that's everywhere these days. I think it will fade gracefully. I liked the fact that there weren't any hard feelings or whiskers. This is just a gorgeous classic denim skirt that goes with everything.
