Effortless Organic Sound

The D70S is one of the most transparent and musical components I have ever heard. To this day I can't see any coloring, additive or subtractive. Everything you hear through the D70S is as perfect a reproduction of the original performance as the recording and its media can convey. If other DACs have sounded stereotypically digital: harsh, metallic, mechanical, flashy or flashy, try this one. Despite the lack of stereotypical digital artifacts, the D70S can sound as hard and ruthless as the music itself when required. Slipknot, Amon Amarth, Soilwork and Sepultura are reproduced with all the power, ferocity and punch befitting metal. Conversely, Joni Mitchell's new reissues have all the warmth and intimacy with which they were originally recorded. Beethoven, Bach and Brahms are presented with all the harmonic richness, delicacy and dynamism they possess in a concert hall. Mahler, Bruckner and Shostakovich have all the power and dynamism they should show. In any case and in any genre, the D70S is simply transparent to the soul of the music. It just doesn't get in the way of the music, letting you spend countless hours reviewing your music collection and hearing everything played with much more insight, finesse of expression and detail of performance. I cannot recommend the Topping D70S more highly.
