I wanted to make an espresso on my boat that was small, energy efficient and easy to use. I went with the NS model to avoid confusion. It took me a while to get used to it, but now that I've had a little practice I can make a very good espresso almost anywhere. I've found that non-Nespresso capsules need a little tweaking to work well. I've found the lower blades to cut through plastic casings, but I prefer to use the Name Blade to pierce plastic as sometimes the Minipresso can't pierce the ground. My device also seems to have a small issue with the top film piercing. I use a straight pen to poke a few holes in the foil and that seems to help the machine do the rest of the work. It's not too difficult! Preheating the device is mandatory. Fill the water chamber with boiling water and pump without the capsule. Also, pump water into a drinking cup to warm it up. It's just a small step that makes a big difference. I hope to get a lungo tank soon. I would also like to try reusable capsules. Then I would have a very versatile little espresso machine!
