Haven't put this on the futon yet. We just returned from overseas 14 years ago and I have both my garage and basement full of boxes. I hate unpacking. But I digress. My dog, yes, he again, took the futon. So I took this fully enclosed waterproof mattress topper, a cover and another waterproof blanket to cover it. It has all survived washing and drying, so I'm assuming they won't fall apart. I like that they are cheap because I can buy a few different colors and the whole room will look different. bought a few more of these.
