Not as hard as I would like, but still a good addition to my back.
I used a similar device on my office chair many years ago. This time I needed extra lumbar support for the kayak seat. This seat does exactly that, but I wish it was even stronger. I put a piece of large pool noodle in my cave and will try it in a day or two. Either way, it's a good back brace.
