Great so far! Best Boots and Paw Guards

We only received these boots today so this is a preview and I think they deserve 5 stars in all categories so far. I will update after further intensive use. Pros: - Easy to put on - Sizing was easy when made according to directions and the size I ordered fits great! - Includes instructions where there is a great guide. We didn't follow them fully as my Maltipoo used to wear traction socks so he knows how to handle light shoes but he's learned to just walk quickly and sit back to take them off right away. He tried this trick with those boots but to no avail (much to his surprise!). We praised him and gave him lots of treats as boots feel different than socks so he needed some motivation to feel confident. Adjustable strap to comfortably tighten the boot to put it on. nice touch for easy on and off (he has long hair so we didn't have the usual problems tucking his paws in like you would with socks) - overall best tricks on carpet and great grip on laminate floors. My Maltipu was pleasantly surprised by this! He jumped higher on the carpet, feeling safer on the smooth surface. Not bulky like the other style we got from this brand for our larger dog. I can try to get them for my Border Collie too if another style doesn't work. Cons: Most dogs have larger front legs than back legs and they are the same size so you may need two different sizes to get the perfect fit on the front and back legs. This applies to all dog boots, so it's not just a downside for these boots. Sizes: My Maltipoo is 15 pounds and took a size 2. I torn when choosing a size and chose a size 3 for almost every size. Manual (he was between sizes) but I'm glad I didn't. They fit like a glove on the front paws (maybe a little snug but clipping nails won't fix anything) but dangle a bit on the back legs and I'll have to see how they hold/stay. for intensive outdoor use. If I had chosen size 3 they would have been ok on the front legs but maybe too big on the back legs. I almost briefly thought of size 1, but of course that would be too small for the front paws, but maybe ideal for the hind legs. used inside. They held up to carpet runs and kickoffs he was attempting when the traction socks just slipped off/fly off. When we try them outside and after extended use I will update my rating/review. Hope this helps someone!

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
