The outer material is a faux suede, so it is water resistant but not a material you would want to get wet frequently. The gloves are mostly polyester. Fit was true to size for me, gloves tend to run large when I buy them. These are not luxury gloves I'd want to pair with a nice outfit and no substitute for nice leather gloves, but very suitable for being outside in the cold or having available in the car if you just need a pair that won't break the bank. The fabric around the wrist is a little awkward, but not a deal breaker.
