They're quite bright, especially in the bracket that puts them on their side, but the 5 little "spot lights" I have in the main area of my campervan are the most the light comes through laterally and is not reflected directly to the outside. As you can see in the photo most of the cells are on the sides and not so much straight. They're definitely better than some of the cheaper ones I've bought before and I'll let them shine in, but they're not as bright as incandescent bulbs. I might look for some of the ones that have a row of LEDs on the end instead of the sides. Edit: I just lined the inside of the dot awnings with aluminum foil and this directs more light down than into the socket. Much better and no chance of a short circuit because of the foil.
