Great solution for close to the original.
Needed to reconnect to the original AFB carb on my '66 GTO where the connection was a 1/4" ball stud. It worked like a charm. At some point in the story the cable was replaced and I was dreading it but found a 1/16" bike brake cable with preformed ends and routed it through the existing cable housing and you're done!
