Review on Sunco Selectable Downlight Junction by Balakrishna Monzon

No worse than Torchstar

A total of about 4 dozen such lamps were installed. I also installed the same number of slim profile torchlights. Overall, I am very disappointed with the build quality of the Sunco lights. Pros: * Easy to install, like all slim profile lights. * Bought this unit when it was on sale. It was very accessible. Disadvantages: * The plastic junction box is fragile. * The junction box cover is weak. Even with 14/2 wires, the cover can pop off. Worse with 12/2 wires.* Cover not installed on junction box. It annoys me when the lid slips out of my hand or falls down the stairs. The flashlight cover is attached to the junction box and is also metal.* When connecting the flashlight to the junction box you can easily reverse the polarity, in this case you will need to remove the flashlight and reverse the connector. Although the connector is "keyed", it is unusable. It's too late for me to rip out 4 dozen of these and replace them with a Torchstar. It was a disappointing experience, especially when combined with 12/2 wires.
