It's tight and the hydration tube works well without drawing air. I bought a similar bottle (from another manufacturer) which had a built in drinking straw - its cap was only partially threaded making it difficult to fit the cap onto the bottle, the flip up and drinking nozzle also allowed for priming of air, the fact that the straw fits over the drinking nozzle rather than on top of it means the volume of liquid is limited by the nozzle's smaller internal diameter, and eventually the hard plastic outer shell will break if dropped on the pavement. This Rubbermaid bottle surpasses all of those attributes. If you don't need a vacuum flask (not this one) then this is a good choice.
