Review on CI/CD Security by Mario Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good tool for testing deployments

The main benefit of using Argo is to speed up time on ramp up and reduce risk with DevSecOps. It also provides more control and visibility of the pipeline. I really enjoy how easy it is to set up our CI/CD pipeline and how easy it is to setup new environments. I don’t dislike it because it did what we needed it to. I think this will get better with the upcoming release. Currently, I think there is an issue with how the UI looks. It is not very intuitive. For us, there really wasn’t anything that we disliked about the product. I think that the product is very useful though. We use this product to build out our CI/CD pipelines. We use our pipeline to build and test the code that we write. This helps us to speed up the development process. A quick install is needed to have all of your tools in one place (including git). The documentation could be better - there are lots of links that aren't working when you click them so it's difficult finding what you need without reading through every page on their site first. If you're looking into building out an AWS infrastructure with CodeDeploy then this makes things easier. You can do deploys straight off Github which helps save time during release cycles!

Pros
  • With regards to security monitoring features they make sense too especially since everything runs via Docker containers instead of plain old servers running locally inside VPC instances etc.
Cons
  • None
