My granddaughter insisted on helping me build this set. When you first open the box you'll see an intimidating amount of detail, but all fasteners and woodwork are labeled with alphanumeric characters. So if you follow the included instructions carefully, assembly is pretty quick (it took us about an hour). She loves having a table and chairs that are "just the right size," and she spent the rest of the day sitting at it, drawing, and looking at her books. All parts have a nice glossy finish on the wood so I assume future cleaning will be easy. I would recommend this set if you have young children in your house or are visiting!
