Bought for a child (I am a child). Its name is Spike because it is smooth and soft. Mine arrived a little charged and I haven't had to charge it yet, but I'm also not the type to leave it on all night just to catch a few fun minutes. Good ambient lighting, definitely not too bright. Technically, the sensor is on the underside of the part you're pressing, so I usually just gently press all the way down and tap the underside instead of "boop". I did some experimentation and found that the "boop" sensitivity (which varies wildly based on other reviews) is probably related to how much air is pushed out of the ground when you squeeze. Models with better sealing will likely take less impact, but mine can take a good palm hit. So if you don't like the feel of yours, you can probably put some caulk on the bottom or poke a few holes, depending on which direction you want to go. The first few color cycles are solid colors, but "red" right before "off" is the one that fades through the colors. This took quite a bit of figuring out, so I hope this helps someone.
