I have an earlier version of this CD player (with over 100 hours of playback) that I use in my car every day. Like the old mode, this new player is easy to turn on and off and has memory so I never lose position in my book track if I need to pause or turn off the player. The skip protection works well and I can switch players while listening. This is a must for a modern car that doesn't have a CD player! And I appreciate that I can connect with an auxiliary cable instead of Bluetooth. (Even our portable Bluetooth speaker has an extra port!) This updated model has some great new features! The numbers on the display are larger. Now there is a lock function (so-called "Hold") to prevent accidental changes during playback. You can program up to 30 tracks to play a CD in the specified order. This is in addition to Shuffle, Play All, Repeat, etc. (I've tried all of these features. They work well for music!) Back to the first track. I particularly like the many EQ options. I find that the "Jazz" setting gives the best sound quality for an audio (book) performance.
