Review on 📱 Advanced Super Cardioid Directional Smartphone Laptop Bodypack Transmitters by Adam Nelson

I'm not sure if I would describe this mic as 'clarity' or 'warmth' but I didn't want it to get less than 5 stars in any category. This mic is amazing; especially for the price. I've used it on both my camera and a boom mic, and with proper placement, use of the gain control, and proper camera audio settings, it's hard to beat. First of all, the ability to connect directly to the camera. If you want XLR I know Deity makes an adapter for it. The stepless gain control is a really great feature. You'll probably just set it and forget it, but being able to make small adjustments while recording can save your life if the shot is perfect. The sound quality is amazing. I wouldn't say it's light or warm. Somewhere inbetween. Not sure if it's the mic or my camera (Sony A6400) but it does seem like the audio is a bit compressed, but that's nothing I'd complain about. I usually add compression in post, but now I rarely, if ever, need it. It's also very balanced. I don't need to do much EQ at all with this mic. I also have a RODE NTG-2 and would choose Deity over the RODE anytime. He makes a very durable impression. The case is some kind of metal. It's very easy. Charging via USB-C is fast and a very nice feature. Eventually the mic will stop holding a charge, but that will take some time. I have contacted Deity and you can contact them for a battery change when that day comes. They have offices in the US and I was told the queue would be around a week. The Rycote shock mount is very good and suits the camera's cold boots. If you are using a Sony flip screen camera then it would be wise to invest in a cage. Otherwise you will not be able to flip your screen. SmallRig makes great devices at a very reasonable price. The bag is very nice and fits in most camera bags. It includes everything in the microphone kit. I have never used a dead cat. However, given its size, it appears to be designed to be used ABOVE a foam windshield. Deity offers accessories on their website, including several third-party dead cats. All in all, this is a fantastic microphone set at a great price. If it's ever under $200 it's an absolute steal, but the regular price is very fair. If you are looking for a microphone for your camera and considering this one, just go for it.
