Review on Philips Coax Grounding Block for TV Antenna & Satellite: Enhance Signal Stability for RG6 Coaxial Cable Installations by Frank Dubey

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Necessary to protect the electronics!

We were going to hook up an outdoor antenna I had moved from my old house but found we forgot to remove the ground block from the back of my house as we were replacing all the coax for the new one homeowners had left behind. Ouch. I completely forgot until I saw this grounding block recently and immediately realized we forgot to remove it along with the antenna. A grounding block is required to dissipate static electricity and prevent unwanted lightning strikes. So very easy to install. Be sure to connect to a suitable earth ground! When installing a grounding rod (sold separately at most wood supply stores). If the ground is too dry and hard we leave the hose nearby on a very slow stream for a couple of hours and into the hole screwed in with the pole as far as we could the ground was soaked straight up!

Pros
  • TV Antennas
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
