Bought for my mum as a gift for Mother's Day. Went to black screen after 3 months and no amount of troubleshooting helped. Support couldn't help. It was later revealed that her sister had the same model which had taken 5 months and was told she could send it back for repair but it had no warranty, no shipping cost and no $50 inspection fee. After being told that improper packaging would incur repair costs, there was no way Acer would take responsibility. I realize it wasn't a high-end model, but this short-term throwaway mentality is so ecologically irresponsible. Perhaps Acer should be charged a one-time fee for electronics? The company should aim for brand loyalty, not the quick sale of an inferior, cheaper model. If you can't offer a model that works in this price range, don't offer it. No exchange required within one year, regardless of the price. An expensive lesson considering the price per month of use.
