Review on JI&#39 Cell Phones & Accessories by Chris Lacasse

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not as advertised and not smart.

Update: I received an email from this company asking them to remove this review below in exchange for $40. They didn't bring in their $40, so the rating remains the same - another indication of a lack of integrity on the part of this supplier. I bought this JI'TUBST smartwatch and tested it for a few days - I wore it almost every time. day for 14+ hours and also tried the sleep monitoring feature. When I bought it there was a SPO2 feature in the description that clearly wasn't there. When I asked about it, they revised the description of the watch on Revain. Firstly the watch is a reasonable size except that the strap (you get a leather strap and a rubber strap) is too big - I have relatively large wrists but ran out of holes in the strap - maybe a big foot could use that. The Watch comes with a magnetic charger and charges relatively quickly (several hours). Once charged, it will last at least 5 days if you don't play with it constantly. There are only 4 subdials on the dial (other watches of this type have hundreds). The screen is sharp BUT the font size is very small for some features, making them impossible to read at a glance. I originally bought this watch because it advertised BP monitoring, SPO2 monitoring, and heart rate monitoring. I've been (treating) high blood pressure for years, so I'm familiar with the condition and blood pressure measurement - I have an Omron home monitor to compare clocks to my own heart rate and SPO2 oximeter. I would say the heart rate measurement is pretty much in line with my other devices. The blood pressure monitor just isn't accurate - I've done a lot of tests with an Omron and a watch on the same arm and the discrepancies (watches tend to be lower) are inexplicable - as a mathematician I'd assume the BP readings are shown on the watch are as good as a random number generator. You can't rely on this feature to tell you exactly if something meaningful is happening at rest or on the go. PLUS, the watch recorded blood pressure readings when I wasn't wearing it! For example last night it recorded 4 readings AFTER I took off my watch and went to bed - same goes for the heart rate monitor - it recorded heartbeats when I was not wearing it. Again, I think this device just generates random numbers and not actual readings. The sleep function doesn't work on my watch - I slept with it on and it didn't record anything. Let's talk a little about the "H Band" app that you should use on your phone. It's a power thief for what it does, and if you try to turn it off (ie when you're not wearing the watch) it turns back on after being forced to stop in Android's settings. This app has no other alternative, so get stuck with an app that easily drains my Galaxy S9 in less than a day, even if the phone just sits on your desk all day and isn't used for anything else. Therefore, you need to charge your phone more than daily while this app is running. Finally, the watch/app can record your blood pressure/heart rate every half hour if you wish, or manually at any time. BUT, if you want to save that data, the watch can only send you a JPEG representation of the data and only a small amount of that data - most of these devices collect and send you data via a CSV file, so you have all your readings , not just a picture of part of your statement. The notifications feature worked - for example I could feel and see a text message but the display is so small I can't read the message and they don't persist and can't be accessed once they appear. In short, it doesn't work. Things I bought it for, it generates random readings, it generates readings when you don't even have it on your wrist, and you can't save all those random readings, only pictures of some of them AND it doesn't track your sleep. It tells a pretty good amount of time, but the dials (only 4) aren't actually that attractive and functional. Given the lack of performance of the watch's core 'functions' and power consumption app, I do NOT recommend it as anything more than a regular watch, much less a 'smart' one. It's coming back and you should look elsewhere if these things are important to you.
