I use these as regular earrings. I needed titanium and flat back and it's a bonus to me that they are screw on so are less likely to accidentally fall out or pull free. My daughter wore a pair for a long while but one kept falling out. I suspect she played with it but am unsure. Mine haven't come unscrewed on their own at all. Due to the gauge I did have to force them through a bit, which broke skin, and do the healing process again but it was worth it because they are the only earrings I've ever worn that I haven't had reactions to or gotten annoyed with for poking me in the side of the head while I sleep.
