I bought this with the ION Audio Job Rocker Plus to use as a portable outdoor speaker when teaching. I usually have about 40 people in a class. I consciously bought this device because I read good reviews about this device in combination with Job Rocker Plus. This works just as advertised. Range and battery life are as advertised. You will extend battery life if you remember to turn off your device when not in use. Without reading the manual fully, I didn't know what the problem was when the low battery indicator first came up and the device stopped working. After class, when I had time to look through the manual, I realized I had just drained my battery. Conveniently, the base and transmitter can be charged with the supplied USB Y-cable. It plugs into the USB port on the front of the Job Rocker so I can charge it right away. The device can be hand-held or used with a headset that holds the microphone in front of your face. The only thing to keep in mind is that the microphone is very sensitive, so you'll need to turn the volume down on the microphone if you need to have a conversation that you don't want to transmit over the PA. Simply pulling the flexible bar away from your face is not enough. He can still record your voice.
