I recently upgraded from the already excellent Samsung Galaxy S8. I found that after 3 years the battery doesn't last a full day. Jumping a generation to the S10, I see a lot of great upgrades. Thanks to more lenses, 3 vs. 1, and better image processing, the cameras are significantly better in all scenarios. The phone is also much faster, again thanks to a two-generation jump. The fingerprint reader is better than the S8 in terms of positioning accuracy and speed, although it's definitely not the fastest unlocker. I wish the battery was better, although I can barely use my phone for 2 days, my regular use means the battery lasts a day at most. When I use an access point, it usually only lasts a day's work and maybe a couple of hours. I worry about the long-term effects of such heavy use. The reason I chose the S20 was simple: cost, headphone jack, design, and lack of carrier restrictions. Unlocking this phone is a real benefit when you switch and have less malware. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and am not planning on upgrading next time as I will lose the headphone jack!
