I've never been inclined to buy a computer lock. I ordered this lock to deter the "switch" monitor at work. While it's childish for this to happen among adults, it's true. Since my department spent a lot of money on my equipment, I felt better when this cable was connected to my monitors. This twin cable with the same key is convenient in that I can lock both monitors with one device and unlock them with one key. Like any theft deterrent, it is just a theft deterrent at best. I believe if someone REALLY needs your monitor, they will find a way to get it. At least this device makes them work for it. The cable is long enough to connect both monitors and the under-desk loop into one stable construction. Don't forget to log in to Kensington online and register your keys. In case you end up needing to replace one.
