I make several 1 1/2" wide belts out of thick (11-12 oz) leather that can be used counter clockwise. I needed stylish buckles that would allow the wearer to wear it " to tighten those thicker leather straps. , and roller buckles fit the bill. I've bought antique brass and antique nickel buckles, the finishes on both are very good quality and I love the knurled roller design. The roller doesn't just help tighten the belt to pull taut and reduce drag (leather vs. tight buckle), but also protects the finish of the belt itself. Antique brass goes great with a brown belt, and antique nickel looks great with a black belt, especially about the materials which I choose for my projects.They are very good quality and I will definitely wi these buckles for future projects buy it!
