The magnet holds the lid together. Great wallet and phone holder.

I like my wallet, it allows me to have ID, debit card and credit cards. It fit very well in the slot. Holds very well and the card holder fits well. I double the cards, which makes it tighter. I would recommend it. I want the skin to be a little more grainy as it's a little smoother. The color is really beautiful.
