The camera system in my 2011 Tiffin RV was completely dead so I went in search of a replacement system. The factory system was from Triple Vision. It was black and white with a CRT monitor and was almost useless when it worked. After researching different systems on the market, I settled on a ZhanHongXiang system with four cameras, a 7 inch monitor and cables. The total cost of this system was half the cost of upgrading ONE of the side view cameras in the factory system to color! The new rear camera (Photo 1) attaches to the existing camera mount with a 0.3" washer to bring it flush with the body. . The two spherical side cameras perfectly replaced the original side cameras (photo 2). I attached the fourth camera to the hitch and aimed it at the left side of the car (photo 3). It now serves me as a gas station finder as the gas filter is at the back of the bus and stopping at the right spot with a gas station has always been a challenge. I used a piece of laminate and cut out an adapter plate to fill the hole where the old CTR monitor was installed. The monitor case fits perfectly, the monitor slides out easily to access wiring. The result (photo 4) looks almost like factory. I removed the 6-pin molex connector from an old monitor and used it as a connector to connect the new system to my RV's wiring. The pin assignment was in the factory documentation for the Triple Vision system. The new camera system came with one 20 m (60+ ft), one 10 m (30+ ft) and two 5 m (15+ ft) cables. I couldn't run a new cable to the rear camera location so I cut the connectors off one of the 5m cables and connected each end to the existing cable. I ran a 20m cable along the frame rails to connect to the new hitch mounted camera. I had to play around with the camera settings and wiring to get it working properly. Camera #2 was assigned as the rear camera, but I wanted to be able to display the rear view along with the side views (display 1-3-4 on the monitor), so I connected it as #1. The left and right cameras turned out to be the opposite of what I wanted them to appear on the display, so I flipped the turn signal wiring for them. Photo 4 shows the display from both side cameras. The RV is almost invisible in the middle and you can see the spikes on each side. Overall, the quality of the system is very good for the price. Being an analogue system, it's not HDMI quality, but good enough for what it's supposed to be. I've only had the system for a week or so but so far so good. At this price level, the cost of replacing any of the components (or all) is still well below the cost of the big-name systems. I would recommend this system to anyone who wants a basic camera system in their RV.
