Metal Finishers' Secret

These pads have been available since I started metalworking in the mid 80's, primarily through industrial supply companies. Many abrasive pads are available today, but these remain the strongest and most effective pads of this type I have ever used. They are useful for both surface preparation and finishing and can be used where sandpaper cannot or should not be used, such as. B. on irregularly shaped surfaces. On rounded surfaces, sandpaper can cut or scratch, especially when loaded with abraded material, leaving flat spots or lines from the edge of the paper, especially on softer metals like aluminum, copper, brass, and even cast iron. These pads will not. They are very effective in removing light surface oxidation prior to painting, powder coating, electroplating or other coatings. They are very useful for giving a matte finish to metals such as nickel, copper, brass, aluminum and stainless steel to add that finishing touch to new products. They are also ideal for spot touch-ups and full restorations of used items. Cutlery, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, small and large appliances are just a few of the things these pads work well with. A word of caution, as with any abrasive, these pads can ruin the finish. If you don't know what you're doing, or if you feel uncomfortable or unsure, you probably shouldn't do it and leave the job to professionals, or at least someone with experience. However these pods are the best you can find after sliced bread, they are second to none at what they do and I can't say enough good things about them. Their uses are too numerous to list and I would highly recommend them to anyone confident or experienced in their proper use. Another great product from 3M!
