I got frustrated trying to clean stainless steel surfaces. I've tried all sorts of nasty chemicals and scrubs. Bought it out of desperation with low expectations. Wow! They are incredibly efficient. They not only clean dirty, scuffed and damaged stainless steel surfaces, they are also the most effective cleaning method I have come across for aluminum and copper surfaces. These pads are miracle cleaners. Effective cleaning without drama.

I mainly use it for surface cleaning before painting car panels, but it is a handy item to have in the workshop for cleaning electrical ground points and connections, cleaning metal parts etc . It is much easier to work with than similar grit sandpaper for easy sanding before painting and longer life. Definitely not a substitute for sandpaper for removing material and/or smoothing surfaces, but they are ideal for removing light stains from paintwork and light sanding for refinishing.

I was introduced to this product by my husband who built substations for Baltimore Gas & Electric. It is ideal for cleaning and whitening stainless steel (e.g. stains on stainless steel sinks), steel and aluminum in the home. It also easily removes rust and corrosion from tools. I love 3M products! I was reading about 3M Maroon Pads and that I might need some of the gun polishes I had. Well I've searched a lot of stores in the area and couldn't find any.
