This is my first LCD monitor. I used to use the highly acclaimed 17 inch Iiyama monitor. After using this LCD monitor for some time, I found that I don't miss my CRT monitor at all. The images and videos on this monitor are just amazing. Thing is, I have a wide screen and more space, I forget I'm looking at another monitor. The picture is quite comparable to a CRT. I put in my Superbit Spiderman DVD to test the performance and it looked really good, at least I did. The default resolution of 1680x1050 seemed too high for the text display, so I went with 1280x1024. There are some supported resolutions. I'm glad I did. Most programs use the wide screen. Excel charts stretch to the full width, and many websites also stretch to fill the full width, so you don't have to scroll as much to read the text. Outlook fills the entire screen while allowing you to see more of those detailed emails. You can open a window on a standard aspect ratio monitor in full screen mode and then open other windows and cascade them side by side. The vertical separation of windows allows you to see more of each window. I don't think I will go back to the 3X4 aspect ratio.
