This is my first phone stand so I have no other comparative experiences. Since sticky pads (I've heard) can permanently ruin the dashboard, I decided to attach it to the windshield. It seems to hold up well and is easy to adjust, but I can't comment on the durability of the suction cup. There were no signs and it took me a few tries to figure out there was a locking lever to help hold it in place. After I fixed it, the bracket held tight. It looks clunky, but I'll get used to having it in my line of sight. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
