Several times I took turns taking my wife's and my temperature. He always measures my 97.1, her 97.4 three times, 97.3 times. Before the measurement, I sat at a table under a ceiling fan. About 10 minutes later I checked my forehead again and it read 97.4 degrees. We have two digital oral thermometers that I use to test the accuracy of this thermometer. The first reading was 97.5 degrees and then I checked it with this forehead thermometer and got a reading of 97.6 degrees. I tried a second thermometer and got 97.6 degrees oral temperature, and then again with this forehead thermometer 97.6 degrees. With the results of this test, I can use this thermometer instead of an oral thermometer to take my family's temperature. This device can also measure the temperature of any object. I've tested this on a few things in the house (walls, plastic toys, etc.) and the readings are very close to the A/C thermostat setting, so these readings are reasonable.
