I needed to add a roller chain offset link to a roller chain link and this tool was used to connect the chain without loosening the fasteners. Although the chain is probably tighter than it should be. I found it was necessary to grind the ends on one side of the connector pins to use the pull switch cutter. Otherwise the pins would get stuck in the roller link. I had to pay 3x more for an offset link at my local store, but I still ordered 4 half links for an exchange/repair.
