I have put it on and off 1 time and the nut that comes on the boat already has signs of wear. The key tool is steel, The part of the nut that goes in engages a tool (and goes to a fixture) made of brass or bronze, very soft, you have to be EXTREMELY careful to make sure the key is engaged and doesn't slip an iota skill this Putting thing on and off more than 4-5 times before it becomes unusable, hopefully it will if it doesn't secure your prop to the boat. It fits really securely as far as I know, the soft metal might be a feature and not a fault , as it would probably get in someone's way, just stick steel bars in to block the keyless lock as that will burn out the brass pretty quickly If you have an application you're re If I had to change quisites, I would do it. I advise it.
