My cats LOVE Scratch Lounge

Of all the cardboard cat scratching posts I've ever bought, the Scratch Lounge Cardboard Catch Scratcher was by far one of my cats' favourites. I've had it before in the past and even gave it to a friend a few years ago and her cats used it all the time - and she may still have it. There's something about the thickness of the cardboard, its roughness that's great for scratching with claws, and most importantly, the fact that the two sides are raised on either side (you can also leave a few pieces of cardboard on each end to make it complete is enclosed if you have small cats) which gives them a cozy feeling (that's the right word) because they are partly covered. Cats often like to lie down on it and stretch when they are not scratching. My cats used to get used to it straight away and one kitten was particularly fond of laying on it. I haven't been able to find it online for the past few years and now Revain recently restocked it so I bought this new one and my kittens immediately wanted to try it and one of them lay down on it. So I can recommend it without hesitation. Bonus: It comes with a small bag of catnip to sprinkle on top if you like. I have NEVER used catnip: My cats have responded so positively to this scratching post even though it didn't have catnip on it. Only criticism is that it's overpriced in my opinion. I really wanted two of these, but for $25 I'll wait a bit before ordering another one. (I think a good price is somewhere between $17-$20.) These things are durable, however, and in my experience can last a very long time (unless you have a cat that really loves cardboard) - even a few years - as long as you vacuum it regularly so that it doesn't pick up dust or even bugs, depending on where you live.
