Thick paper would hold up better. You would have to hang it up.
The product arrived on time, but the stem was bent so I couldn't straighten it completely. No matter what I did, it was still bent and crooked in places. Also remember that the corn stalk will not stand on its own - it is a very thin and flimsy material. Seriously, heavy paper would hold up better. You need to hang it on the wall or stick it on cardboard. If it's $2 a pop it might be fair, but when I found real $14 corn stalks on the street it just wasn't worth the money.
