Excellent durability and value. Durable, breathable, lightweight for 6 year old

**UPDATED IN THREE YEARS: The 6 year old mentioned below is now 9 years old and these sandals are holding their shape. (See photo.) We live in the Pacific Northwest so we only wear them in the summer, but my kids are very picky about shoes and I wear a navy blue pair for my youngest and buy a larger pair for my 9 year old. . Good durability and value.**. I bought these to replace a pair of Keen trainers that my 6 year old son never wanted to wear because he had trouble getting them on and off. (Also, they're expensive and seem to cause nasty foot odor in a short amount of time. ) I bought this Timberland in Navy/Yellow which got his approval and he wore it with pleasure for the last six weeks of the summer. He's worn them the hard way - climbing trees, playgrounds, the beach etc and I'm impressed with how well they've held up. I bought some bigger ones so I hope he can wear them next summer too. My only complaint is that the ankle strap is VERY long. My son naturally has skinny legs and ankles, but the end of this thing dangles almost to the floor. However, that worries me more than him! I suppose you could cut it off. Overall I think this is great value for money; I bought another pair for my youngest son next summer. (His [local retailer] cheap sandals won't make it through next summer, unsurprisingly.) Only gripe is that the ankle strap is VERY long.
