I think you're right. If this seems too good to be true, it probably is. I thought I got a good deal but what arrived was nothing but a Chinese fake. The main review is: At first I thought it was DOA. Nothing on my DVR except a black screen. It transmitted a video signal, but the picture was null. After multiple connections and disconnections, voila! it came alive. To my surprise, the image was quite heavily overloaded and littered with various noise artifacts. So I tried a different cable and also a different connector on the dashcam. There is no joy. Still a pretty terrible image (if you want to use it for some kind of surveillance system). Then I did a low light test. Judging by my light meter, the image quality has deteriorated a lot at around 75 lux. He was gone by 25 lux. Far from a true Sony SuperHAD sensor. If you don't need anything other than a general daylight image, I'd look elsewhere folks.
