I bought this case mainly for fun and to easily distinguish my laptop from my husband's laptop as MacBooks are virtually indestructible from the outside (I love that about them!). This case fits well and lasts. I've had it for a few months now and it's not broken or cracked so seems solid. The only downside is that the keyboard cover has a pattern that I really liked when I bought it online - I thought it looked really cool - but didn't really like it in everyday use; The pattern just hinders seeing the keys, which I didn't think I cared about, but I did. My husband's case came with a plain black and white keyboard cover, which I replaced. While I really like this case, it might be something to consider when making a purchasing decision.
