Surprisingly happy

I've looked at so many portable monitors. I initially chose Meepow or Asus, somehow I couldn't stop. Then I found this G-Story. Strange name, but it has everything I wanted - a touchscreen, thin, light, powered by a laptop. I connected the device to my Dell Inspiron 5500 using the USB-C cable that came with it. It worked right away. The touch screen works too. My laptop doesn't have a touchscreen, so being able to work with a touchscreen is great. Then I connected the Nintendo Switch to the monitor. This time I used the same USB-C data cable and a different USB-C cable for the portable charger. This monitor has 2 USB-C ports, the bottom one is for charging only. The second from the bottom deals with data transmission and power supply. It works as expected with Nintendo Switch. The touchscreen doesn't work on the Switch, although the monitor comes with a magnetic cover that converts into a stand. The stand is not strong. It costs the same as the Surface, but it's an inverted monitor cover and can collapse if you slide the monitor onto a slippery surface. I used it on the dining table. It was held over the touch screen. The magnetic cover seems to protect the monitor well. The control button on this monitor is pretty cheap. It looks like a protruding piece of metal that is very rough to the touch. You should use this to increase and decrease volume and brightness. This product somehow comes with a remote control. For some reason the remote doesn't have direct volume and brightness controls. It would be much better if I could control the volume and brightness from the remote without going into settings, navigating right, selecting brightness and turning up and down. I'm not sure why the remote doesn't have direct control over them. It also comes with a nice case. Overall I rated it 4 stars. It does what I expected. It doesn't have many features, quality and looks. For me it is exactly the right thing to do my job. Having paid just over $200 for a touchscreen, I'm pretty damn happy.
