Am I the only one who doesn't like this sleep pattern?

I wish I knew there was a forced sleep mode as I find it extremely inconvenient. I would rather buy a new battery every 6 months than deal with it. I sit in front of my laptop for hours, often just using pictures for artistic reference, so I have a habit of nudging my mouse to keep the screen saver from kicking in. Obviously this doesn't work if moving the mouse doesn't do anything because it's already asleep. I know other mice go to sleep, but this one requires you to click to wake it up without moving. Another reason I don't like this mouse is that when it goes to sleep the cursor disappears and you can't find it back on the screen until you click. and since you can't see where the cursor is until you click, you might as well just click something you didn't mean to. If the movement wakes the mouse up smoothly, that would be great, but if you're constantly moving while clicking to keep your mouse working, this 'feature' might not be great for you either.
