As an independent film and games composer I use a lot of USB sticks to ship products, transfer files between systems here in my studio etc. The price for this is right on the money . They pay just over $4 per disc. They come in a metallic color and the flashing LED (red) when plugged in is a nice touch. (You can actually tell when they're reading and writing.) However, they are very SLOW. I do not know why. I tried USB on different ports from USB 2 to USB 3. I've also tried more than one drive from a stack. Their maximum speed is around 5-6 Mbps. They also read at around 10Mbps (on my computers at my house). Checked drivers, etc. Nothing unusual. It took me about 30 minutes to burn 6GB, just under half the disk. So for small files, single songs, very short video clips, program files, etc. it's fine. If you want to move large files, unfinished videos, high-quality/multi-track music, these USB sticks can still be used, but you need to add extra time to your schedule or have them read/write while they are processed along with other activities.
