This is a fantastic front speaker. I've paired it with Synergy F30 series front subwoofers and Synergy S-10 series rear subwoofers, as well as an R-115 and a legacy Klipsch 12-inch subwoofer. I had an old Synergy C-20 and was constantly adjusting the center channel to hear dialogue and that was before I added the new 15 to my home theater. No longer! I can turn up the volume until the subwoofers hit the bass and I have no hearing problems. I'm sure the RP-540 is an amazing speaker, but with an 85" TV mounted on a TV stand crammed with consoles and a large receiver I wouldn't be able to mount the 540. For all the audiophiles out there, I honestly can't tell any difference in timbre between my synergistic fronts and center. I can tell a hell of a lot of differences between this center and my old synergy center. I plan on upgrading everything to the RP series at some point, but none of our local stores stock the RP-280 or the new 8000 and I'd love to hear the difference before throwing another 2 or 3k into the system. gave 4 stars for "material quality" just because Klipsch makes good sounding ugly speakers.
