Review on Samyang SY10M-FX 10mm F2.8 Ultra Wide Angle Fixed Lens for Fuji X Mount: Expert Review, Features, and Compatibility by Kenny Donald

Revainrating 3 out of 5

IQ 4/5 Star but the lens is just a monster.

Great price and very clear images. Too bad there wasn't around 50-60% of this size. I threw mine away due to sizing issues. I have many Samyangs / Rokinons with different focal lengths. I like the manual controls. I like the controls more than the Leica 35 Lux controls and also the Fuji 14mm controls. I have to use tape on both lenses as the aperture rings almost move when you blow on them. The Samyang are reliable and some of the best friction focus and aperture controls I've come across. Perhaps Fuji will release an ultra-wide manual slider in the 8mm, 9mm or 10mm range. The Fuji 10-24 would be nice if it had manual controls, but it's not for the camera enthusiast and doesn't suit my shooting style. You can search my name on google and see the work of artists De Wallen and Bikers at Mardi Gras. A book with many examples made with Samyang superwides.all manual. The autofocus doesn't work in the conditions I'm shooting in, the main thing is zone focusing. Unfortunately, this type of capture gets lost with manufacturers who hire engineers who have no idea what a great document camera should be. That's why we have a program disk instead of a shutter speed disk and Fuji's useless "focus-by-wire". Leica has perfected what was needed eons ago. The Japanese only had to copy the Leica and make it available.
