Works Well: Computers and Accessories

UPDATE: The bottom of the fans has no protection, so it is very difficult to hold them on your lap or other hard surface. My USB connector is also broken. I tried pulling it out and it all came loose, so now it's just a broken USB thingy that's hard to get out of the slot and the extra slot it provided is now gone. I ended up just snapping off the fans and plugging them into my PS3, they all work so far. I got this for my Toshiba laptop which was getting hotter and my old $30 cooling pad was no good. everything to help. For $5 the game was worth it and I'm glad I picked it up. First of all, the design everyone is talking about is really, really bad. In fact, it is a clear plastic plate with 3 small fans screwed to it. It doesn't have a back, so if you put it on your lap without a hard surface to block it, the fans won't work. The wires were also just hanging out there when I got it. There's a small latch to keep them in place, but they still move a lot. And everything else about it is great. My laptop got very hot because the airflow wasn't that great, but since I've been using it, not even an internal fan is running. I put my hand on the fans and although they are small they provide great airflow and it's really cool. The bottom of my laptop is even cool and you can feel some air escaping from the side. The lamps don't have a switch or anything, which is a bit annoying when you don't want to turn them on but do want to turn on the fans. However, if your laptop is newer, the fans and lights will only stay on in sleep mode when it is connected to the AC adapter, otherwise the USB slot will be disabled. The included USB adapter is also a lifesaver. My old fans didn't have this, so I didn't have a USB plug all the time, and while it's a little tricky to plug in, it works great. The fans also use less power than my old ones because they are smaller. Overall I think this is a great purchase. The design flaw was somewhat to be expected since you're only paying $5 for this thing, but its use is better than my old $20-$30 dual fan. I just hope that the fans keep working and don't die out anytime soon.
