Review on Phael Digitizer Replacement PreInstalled Adhesive Tablet Replacement Parts for Digitizers by Kevin Graham

The new screen digitizer works great!

I successfully replaced my 2017 9.7" iPad digitizer with this repair kit from T Phael. Apple charged $250 to replace it. It just got me $18.99 and took my time (to replace with this kit) Additional items I recommend: 1) Hair dryer (which I used) or heat gun 2) Latex gloves 3) I used many tools from the kit , but not all. With some tools I still don't know what they are for. In the end I didn't need them. Searching I found some DIY tutorial videos on Youtube that T Phael recommends (I used the search term "iPad 5 9.7" LCD and Touch Screen Digitizer Repair") used). Note: There are no instructions in the repair kit. The hardest part was removing my broken digitizer. Even with a hot hair dryer on the edges, it was still extremely difficult. But I managed to remove it in the end. Just be careful not to cut any connectors or the home button (ribbons). Once you get rid of the old digitizer, it's not that difficult to replace. (Just be careful not to lose the screws and scratch the LCD screen!) The supplied adhesive was fine. We'll see how well it keeps the touchscreen working perfectly over time. The home button works (but is a bit weaker now, so you have to be careful when you press it.) (The kit does not replace the home button. They use the same button as your iPad. So be sure the button placket doesn't tear!) First of all, take your time. Don't rush to fix the screen.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine
