The candles arrived on time and safely, the packaging was secure enough for postage. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the real wax candles, very decorative. Putting batteries in their bases and turning them on worked well. The artificial flame flickers realistically, we appreciate the fact that it poses no fire hazard. They create a beautiful display, add atmosphere to the room, a kind of zen and good feng shui. After 2.5 months, both candles stopped responding to various remote control functions (dimmer for one, candle/light for the other). I tried moving the candles to troubleshoot using the remote near and far but couldn't tell the difference in effect for the location. The batteries have obviously been replaced with fresh pairs, there is still no joy. The remote control obviously worked, albeit differently for each candle so the batteries in it were not changed. In less than three months, a candle stopped working with a fresh pair of batteries. The other spark plug still works, but only responds to a limited extent to the remote control. From the start I noticed that the candles come back to life a few hours after pressing the red OFF button on the remote, then I realized how they work that the candles at the base need to be turned off for them to go out stay. This saves batteries and protects the circuits and mechanisms. Great while they last.
