Review on FORITO Laptop Protector Protection Blocking by Mike Weaver

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I understand why someone says a clean room is essential.

I bought this device for anti-glare and it solved my problem on a 15.4 inch Toshiba satellite laptop. However, I had to pick the 17.3-inch model and crop it to get one that fits the screen. I followed the instructions, but there are quite a few "bubbles" between the protective film and the screen, which are actually small dust particles. I took it off a few times and used some tape and while I was able to improve some areas, I encountered the same issue in other areas. As someone else said, I would recommend making sure the screen is flat and then moving side to side rather than opening it up and moving bottom to top. I didn't and my problem started with the screen protector slipping behind the bottom panel leaving a small gap at the top. I consider the first sheet app part of my earning curve and if I ever install the second and the experience is better I will rank up. For now I'm disappointed with the looks but more than satisfied with the glare elimination provided by the LCD screen. I am sitting in the room across from my wife who is using a laptop and I can see every little imperfection from the viewing angle. She can't see most problems, so it may be a while before I try a second protector. I'll also make sure I have a completely black screen next time, and with a few cats in the household with nothing floating in the air it's hard to get rid of, but that little stickiness that turns them on is pretty much useless so I used masking tape and it worked fine but if it's not perfect on the first try it seems more problematic each time it's triggered and trying to reapply. The screen size is 13" x 8-1/4" so I had to cut it both ways and it was easy but I left one edge with a little burr so it didn't lay flat. I can't confirm it did more than reduce glare, but glare was a real issue. If you have an old laptop with a custom-sized screen, it really limits the options available.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
