New Casio GW-1400DA watch strap

The new replacement strap I bought was for my Casio G-Shock GW-1400DA. I originally had a stainless steel strap on my watch when I first bought it, but over the years it has broken and I spend a lot of time looking for a new replacement strap for my watch. I really like this watch and I can honestly say that the atomic solar watch is the best and I will probably never get anything but one! So you can see why I was so keen to fix this! Well this replacement strap works great for my watch but I had to make a small adjustment to it and I just want to let everyone know what I did because after a few simple adjustments it fits great! The only thing I did was unscrew the pins on each side with two flat head screwdrivers (you need two otherwise it will be very difficult to get them out any other way!). Then, once you've pulled them out, remove the two metal fasteners by first pulling straight up and then like horizontal. You will see, it is really easy! Now conversion! You'll see that right next to the two screw holders on either side of the fastener is a small piece of metal at about a 90 degree angle right next to the screw holes. Well, they both need to be on each clasp so you put the clasp back over the new replacement strap (if you're having trouble understanding what I'm talking about, try putting a new strap on and putting the zipper back on and you'll see that the two metal parts pointing down towards the belt hit against the belt and prevent a straight fit!). What I did was take needle nose pliers and gently bend the piece of metal up and down several times until it snapped off! (Note - be careful not to damage the screw holes!). After you took them off I took a metal file and smoothed the edges so as not to cut myself or others and that was it! Insert new straps, reattach the newly modified clasps, put the screws back in and then tighten them again with two screwdrivers, done! Hope this helps everyone! because if you love your Casio G-Shock as much as I do, then putting it back on your wrist is definitely worth that little inconvenience!
