Description of Boston Gear S2430 Pressure Angle

Transmits torque between parallel shafts to provide rotational power to another part of a motorized system. Pressure angle of 14.5 degrees for a higher contact ratio between gears, resulting in quieter operation than larger pressure angles. Diametral pitch of 24 for applications where controlling changes in speed and direction of rotation with precision is more important than transferring torque. Low carbon steel (.2 percent carbon) for applications where the hardness and strength of higher levels of carbon are not needed to transmit torque and motion.

Disappointing Quality Gears for Industrial Use

Based on our own experience, the Boston Gear S2430 Pressure Angle was a huge disappointment for our industrial and SCIENTIFIC needs.We expected the gears to function smoothly and last long but that was not the case. The only good thing about this product is its affordability. However, the cons outweigh this pro by far. We faced constant issues with noise, friction, and wear and tear. It was a waste of our time and resources to use this product, and we will not be recommending it to anyone..

Excellent quality gear

Excellent quality gear but: slightly closer to 6x despite being too large; 2) Set screw was not included; and 3) the set screw hole appears to be unthreaded. I had to screw a large screw into the hole to attach it to the shaft.
